Tom Tom the Pipers Son. Tile measures 6' square and was manufactured by Franklin Tile in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, I would place the age of this piece at about 1930-1935. The frame measures 12.75" square x 1' thick and is made of Oak. The piece does have a crack in the lower right ( pictured ), but still displays very nicely, frame is included with the purchase and makes the tile ready to hang and display. (#gap0057)

A very nice trivet made by the American Encaustic Tiling Co., to commemorate a field day for the Pittsburgh Tile Industry. This is dated July 31, 1926. The motif is based on a design done by Walter Crane (in England), and shows a man boasting about his feats. A whimsical saying also adorns this 6" square tile. In generally very good condition, there are 2 surface scratches (about1" long and through the glaze) near the standing mans left leg. These are in fact, fairly difficult to see. A very nice example of a storybook/fable tile. (#1118)

This Victorian era tile looks like upholstery to me! A reddish brown majolica glaze covers the tile surface which is molded in moderate relief. Measures 6" square by 1/2" thick. There are a few small glaze breaks on the surface - generally in nice condition. Probably American, definitely circa 1890. (#2029)

Great decorative vintage tile made by the Mosaic Tile Company, of Zanesville, Ohio, circa 1950's. This depicts Shylock - who was a character in Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice". Done in the wax resist method, this has a very pale pinkish tone to the background and a self framing edge - measures 6" square. Here is a link to more information on Shylock. There are 3 deep crazing lines (top, bottom and right side). These do not appear to be hairlines - however it's hard to definitely tell. (#1261)
